J H Builders had the initial task of excavating the ground around the original fountain to locate as many original parts as possible.  The more original parts found the less new parts were required.  Anything missing, John had to make a mould and recreate the part.

The original stone needed to be cleaned but due to the age of the stone, care was required.  Initially it was rubbed with a wire brush and then shale blasted.  This is the use of eggshells rather than sand as it is not as abrasive.

The original fountain had a brick bottom, but unfortunately this was beyond recovery.  Therefore, a new fibreglass covered pool was created.

J H Builders had to clean up, repair and recreate any missing items to put this fountain back together.  The pool was fibreglassed and everything recreated as close to the original as possible before work starts on the 'Mermaid' fountains.
